Job summary

HDR, Inc. seeks a Senior Structural Engineer in California to lead complex building projects. You will act as a technical expert, directing design activities and overseeing medium to large teams of professionals and technicians.

Ideal candidates hold a PE license, 10+ years in structural engineering, and proficiency with ETABS, RAM Systems, SAFE or similar tools. Primary location is Los Angeles, with Irvine as an alternate site.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
Minimum of 10 years structural engineering experience on building projects.
Professional engineering license recognized by the local board (PE or equivalent).
Proficiency with AutoCAD and RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar analysis software.
Experience in design calculations and layouts.
Ability to design and detail steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures.
Understanding of gravity and lateral structural analysis.
Experience at an engineering consulting firm is preferred.

Serve as a technical expert with authority in structural engineering for projects.
Resolve problems of greater scope and complexity.
Lead design activities and manage medium to large teams.
Plan and develop projects or design activities.
Supervise work of staff of professionals and technicians.
Serve as Project Manager on larger projects when needed.
