Qualifications

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Structural Engineer to join their prestigious firm in George . This role involves leading the structural design and analysis of a variety of construction projects, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with all relevant codes and standards. You will be responsible for mentoring junior engineers, managing design deliverables, and collaborating closely with architects and other disciplines to deliver innovative and safe structural solutions. This is a key position within our Western Cape operations, contributing to significant infrastructure and building developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design, analysis, and detailing for diverse building and infrastructure projects.
• Perform complex structural calculations and simulations using advanced engineering software.
• Review and approve structural drawings, specifications, and calculations prepared by the team.
• Ensure designs comply with South African National Standards (SANS) and international best practices.
• Mentor and guide junior structural engineers, fostering their technical development and project management skills.
• Collaborate effectively with clients, architects, contractors, and other consultants throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr. Eng. Tech.) registration with ECSA.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in structural engineering design and project leadership.
• In-depth knowledge of structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, Revit Structure) and building materials.
• Proven experience in managing structural engineering teams and project deliverables.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities.
