Job summary

New York City Department of Transportation seeks a Lead Project Engineer to advance SIPs focused on cycling, micromobility, and pedestrian facilities. You will drive design development, coordinate with stakeholders, and manage complex street projects in NYC.

The role requires a NYS PE license, 4+ years of civil engineering experience, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams. This is a hybrid position with remote work options and NYC residency considerations.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of full-time civil engineering experience.
• Valid New York State Professional Engineer license (PE).
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Review SIP proposals and develop street designs using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Lead design meetings and present recommendations to stakeholders.
• Coordinate ARTS/311 responses for cycling and micromobility requests.
• Oversee borough markings after pavement resurfacing and allocate resources.
• Collaborate across teams and communicate through reports and policies.
• Ensure compliance with agency safety policies and use of PPE.
