Job summary

The Shore and Country Club in Norwalk is seeking a dependable Lead Steward/Dishwasher to join our culinary team. This hands-on role keeps the kitchen and back-of-house areas clean, organized, stocked, and ready for daily service and events.

The Lead Steward will be the main point person for the stewarding area, coordinating with the Executive and Sous Chefs to ensure dishes, equipment, and supplies are properly maintained and available as needed. Evening and weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Prior dishwashing or stewarding experience preferred.
• Experience in restaurant or banquet settings is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Wash, sanitize, and store dishes and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain clean, organized stewarding areas and workflow.
• Assist with deliveries, unloading, and stocking.
• Support banquet setup and breakdown for events.
• Monitor supplies and request restocking as needed.
• Ensure proper cleaning and sanitation procedures are followed.
