Job summary

Intermountain Health Cedar City Hospital is seeking a Central Processing Technician to ensure sterile processing duties across multiple levels. Responsibilities include disassembly, decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and inventory management within the SPD department.

You will train and mentor students and new SPD staff, perform quality checks, and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely provision of equipment for procedures. This is a full-time role with varied shift coverage.

Qualifications

• Must attain Central Processing Certification from HSPA within one year of hire date.
• Central Processing Certification from HSPA required.
• CER or CIS certification through HSPA (Level 3) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, decontaminate, and disinfect basic surgical instruments.
• Identify, assemble, protect, wrap, contain, peel pack, label and sterilize basic surgical instruments.
• Print off a needs list and collect all necessary items for procedures and distribute sterile supplies.
• Perform, read, validate and record biological/chemical sterilization tests and parameters.
• Teach, train, orient and precept students and new SPD staff; validate competencies.
