Job summary

Intermountain Health Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City is seeking a Central Processing Technician to ensure sterile instruments are cleaned, decontaminated, assembled, sterilized, and issued hospital-wide with accuracy and timeliness.

The role requires rotating Level I–III duties, inventory control, and strong communication with clinicians and vendors. Swing shift 3pm–11:30pm; full-time with benefits.

Qualifications

• Must attain Central Processing Certification from HSPA within one year of hire date.
• Central Processing Certification from HSPA required for Level 2-3.
• Preferred: CER or CIS certification through HSPA (Level 3).

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, decontaminate and disinfect basic surgical instruments.
• Identify, assemble, protect, wrap, label and sterilize instruments.
• Print needs lists and collect items for procedures.
• Issue sterile supplies to hospital areas and regional campuses.
• Perform basic inventory duties and document activity.
• Communicate effectively with providers, caregivers, and vendors.
