Job summary

Intermountain Health Cedar City Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure proper cleaning, decontamination, sterilization, and storage of surgical instruments across multiple specialties. You will lead an assigned area when needed and collaborate with vendors and providers to support patient care.

Level 1–3 roles involve disassembly, validation of sterilization processes, and ongoing competency development within our education system.

Qualifications

• Must attain Central Processing Certification from HSPA within one year of hire date.
• Level 2-3: HSPA cert required; Level 1: obtain certification within 1 year.
• Ongoing competency validation in Sterile Processing education system.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, decontaminate, and disinfect basic surgical instruments.
• Identify, assemble, wrap, label, sterilize, and prepare instruments for procedures.
• Perform inventory duties and issue sterile supplies to hospital areas.
• Teach, orient, and precept students and new SPD staff.
