Job summary

Banner Health, Sun City West, AZ, is seeking a Lead Sterile Processing Technician to join the Sterile Processing Department. You will lead decontamination and sterile processing, collaborate with OR staff, manage inventory, and supervise workflow with minimal supervision.

Requirements include SPD certification (CSPDT or CRCST), a minimum of two years in sterile processing, and a strong mechanical aptitude. Night shift hours support hospital operations and patient care.

Qualifications

• Requires national SPD certification (CSPDT) or CRCST.
• Two years sterile processing experience with instrumentation knowledge.
• Mechanical aptitude to disassemble/reassemble, troubleshoot incomplete trays, and ensure tool readiness.
• Effective organizational, communication and teamwork skills to coordinate multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Ensure sterile instruments and disposables are ready for procedures.
• Collaborate with OR staff to provide sterile instruments and equipment for surgeries.
• Monitor sterilizers and oversee inventory of sterile supplies and equipment.
• Lead service line activities, guide other staff, and communicate issues to leadership.
• Review OR schedules and project future equipment/instrument needs.
