Job summary

Wellstar Kennestone Hospital seeks a Lead Sterile Processing Technician to coordinate instrument processing and workflow in the central supply area. The role supports operating rooms by ensuring sterile packs and supplies are ready, properly prepared, and available to meet case schedules.

The Lead will supervise and mentor Sterile Processing Technicians, maintain sterilization records, and collaborate with nursing and medical staff to optimize workflow while upholding safety and quality

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead sterile processing tasks under supervisor to coordinate instrument processing and workflow.
• Ensure aseptic/sterile techniques for instruments and supplies.
• Inspect, assemble, wrap, and prepare surgical packs and equipment for cases.
• Maintain regulatory documentation of sterilization records and quality control logs.
• Communicate with OR staff and management to ensure timely supply and instrument turnaround.
