Job summary

Black Rocket Productions LLC in New York is hiring an after-school technology teacher at entry level to guide students in coding, Minecraft, Roblox, video editing, game design and more using our project-based curriculum.

This role requires availability after school hours (2:00 - 6:00 PM), Monday through Friday, with paid training and opportunities to gain classroom experience during a full school year.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completed 48 college units minimally OR have taken and passed the NCLB Exam or compliant equivalent.
• Experience with technology or teaching preferred.
• Must be available after school hours (approximately 2:00 - 6:00PM), daily Monday - Friday.
• Consistent attendance is REQUIRED, substitutes are not available.
• Instructors must be at least 21 years of age and have significant experience working with children ages 8-14 or technology, both is even better!
• Experience with children in an educational setting is preferred but not required.
• Comfortable working with teacher-to-student ratios of 20:1 for elementary schoolers.
• Strong technology skills preferred, such as a background in 3D modeling, digital arts, coding, game creation or design, animation, robotics, modifying games, video editing, competitive gaming, etc. or significant knowledge of Minecraft or Roblox, including modding or streaming.

Responsibilities

• Get in-room teaching experience with excited students.
• We review applications in the order they are received and positions are filled on a 'rolling' basis.

We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated and talented individuals towork as Lead Instructors in our after school programs. Full school year in 10 week sessions, with options to continueinto additional seasons

Get in-room teaching experience with excited students

No formal experience required, but teaching experience in somecapacity highly preferred
