Job summary

Black Rocket Productions is seeking an after-school technology teacher in Sugar Land, TX to guide students aged 8–14 through project-based learning in coding, Roblox, Minecraft, video editing and robotics.

This part-time, hourly position runs during the school year with 10-week sessions, in-room teaching experience, and paid training. Must be available after school hours and have reliable transportation within Fort Bend ISD.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completed 48 college units minimally OR passed NCLB exam or compliant equivalent.
• Experience with technology or teaching preferred.
• Must be available after school hours (2:00-6:00 PM), Mon-Fri.
• Reliable transportation within Fort Bend ISD to transport equipment (~30 lbs).
• Consistent attendance is REQUIRED; substitutes not available.
• Instructors should be at least 21 with experience working with children 8-14.
• Experience with children in an educational setting preferred.
• Comfortable with 20:1 teacher-to-student ratio.
• Strong tech skills in 3D modeling, digital arts, coding, game design, animation, robotics, video editing or Minecraft/Roblox knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructors guide students through project-based learning curriculum.
• Instruct after-school sessions in coding, Roblox, Minecraft, and digital media.

Are you passionate about computer science, video games, coding, Python, Roblox, app design, digital movies, robotics, drones, Minecraft or STEM?
We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated and talented individuals to work as Lead Instructors in our after school programs. Lead instructors guide students through our world class, project based learning curriculum to discover new technology skills in coding, Minecraft, ROBLOX, video editing, game design and more!

• Full school year in 10 week sessions, with options to continue into additional seasons


• Get in-room teaching experience with excited students


• No formal experience required, but teaching experience in some capacity highly preferred

Requirements

• Reliable transportation throughout Fort Bend Independent School District with ability to transport approximately 30 lbs of equipment


• Must be available after school hours (approximately 2:00 - 6:00 PM), daily Monday - Friday.


• Consistent attendance is REQUIRED, substitutes are not available


• Instructors must be at least 21 years of age and have significant experience working with children ages 8-14 or technology, both is even better!


• Experience with children in an educational setting is preferred but not required


• Comfortable working with teacher-to-student ratios of 20:1 for elementary schoolers


• Strong technology skills preferred, such as a background in 3D modeling, digital arts, coding, game creation or design, animation, robotics, modifying games, video editing, competitive gaming, etc. or significant knowledge of Minecraft or Roblox, including modding or streaming
