Zusammenfassung

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Maryland Park Service, seeks a State Park Ranger Lead to guide an operational area, perform daily park operations, and ensure visitor compliance with park rules and resources management policies.

Successful candidates will train lower-level staff, supervise seasonal personnel, and coordinate with partners to deliver safety, interpretation, and protection of park resources. Weekend work is required.

Qualifikationen

• Seven years of experience in forest or park management, recreation, or natural resources management.
• Bachelor's degree in park operations, recreation, education, business administration, forestry, social sciences, history or related field and three years of experience in forest/park management or similar.
• Master’s degree may substitute five years of required experience.
• Armed forces service as a commissioned officer can substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Aufgaben

• Lead Ranger duties for an operational area and perform front-line day-to-day park operations.
• Direct full-time staff and supervise seasonal employees and volunteers; may lead temporary workers.
• Educate visitors on resource management and park regulations, monitor visitor impact, and coordinate safety and protection efforts.
