Maryland Park Service is hiring a State Park Ranger Steward in a statewide capacity to operate and supervise park facilities, interpret park rules, and deliver visitor services. The role includes outdoor and indoor duties, public safety, and cash handling, with weekend and holiday work possible.

The candidate will serve under supervision of an Assistant Manager or designee and contribute to resource management, visitor education, and maintenance across Maryland state parks.

Formación

• Six years of experience, two years of experience in forest or park management, recreation, or natural resources management, or preparing, developing or delivering programs that interpret natural, historical, cultural or recreational features.
• Notes: substitution options available with degrees: Bachelor's in park operations, recreation, education, business administration, forestry, social sciences, history or natural resources/history related field and two years of related experience.
• Notes: substitution of Master’s degree for five years of required experience.
• Notes: substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsabilidades

• Interpret and apply Park rules and regulations to ensure voluntary compliance with park standards.
• Coordinate forest and park programs and inform visitors of resources.
• Supervise professional and/or support staff.
• Perform front line work including visitor services, park facilities operation, safety, and cash handling.
