Michigan Department of Natural Resources is seeking a Park and Recreation Ranger to oversee daily operations of DNR facilities, assist the Unit Supervisor in administrative tasks, and guide staff in maintenance and safety procedures. The role emphasizes safety for staff and visitors and requires training through the Parks and Recreation Academy.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma and relevant park/recreation experience, with substitutions allowed via college credits as noted.

Qualifications

• Education typically acquired through completion of high school.
• Three years of park and recreation experience, including one year equivalent to a Park and Recreation Ranger E8.
• Completion of at least 8 semester (12 term) college credits in natural resources, park management or outdoor recreation may be substituted for one year of experience as a Park and Recreation Ranger-E.
• Completion of at least 15 semester (22 term) college credits in natural resources, park management or outdoor recreation may be substituted for two years of experience as a Park and Recreation Ranger-E.

Responsabilités

• Oversee and participate in day-to-day activities of Parks and Recreation Division facilities.
• Assist Unit Supervisor/Manager in administrative tasks with minimal supervision.
• Oversee and perform operational and maintenance duties; train staff, maintain grounds, infrastructure and equipment.
• Serve as worksite safety officer and uphold safety for self, co-workers, and the public.
