Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Lead Development Test Technician (Starship Structural Test) for the 1st shift to lead a small team in testing operations, ensuring safety and quality in the Starship Tower build.

The role includes coaching, coordinating with engineering teams, and handling GSE testing activities, high-pressure systems, and instrumentation. Candidates should be prepared for on-site work and related physical requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 3+ years of industrial experience such as installing pipes and components, bending stainless tubes, or working around high-pressure systems (pneumatic or hydraulic).
• 2+ years assembling and configuring large mechanical structures and test stands using forklifts, cranes, and proper rigging techniques.
• Associate degree and A&P license are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team in testing operations, assign work based on priorities, enforce safety and workmanship standards.
• Act as liaison between employees and management to solve problems.
• Coach, mentor, and train team members.
• Ensure all team members follow proper procedures.
• Provide information on materials and components for tooling work orders.
• Support GSE testing: build, install, maintain, and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic equipment for the Starship Tower build.
• Read and interpret planning documents, schematics, specifications, drawings, manuals, blueprints, and engineering sketches.
• Operate and maintain high-pressure systems and related equipment.
• Collaborate with design engineers to document GSE/testing activities.
• Obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits, or certifications as required.
