Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Standby Letter of Credit Specialist for the Global Trade & Standby Services group.

You will manage standby L/Cs from issuance to renewal and draw processing, collaborating with Relationship Managers, Credit, Compliance, Legal, and clients to ensure compliant, timely processing. This role emphasizes risk management, complex structures such as syndicated facilities, and prioritizing accuracy while handling a high-volume portfolio.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Deep expertise in standby letters of credit incl. drafting, issuance, amendments, negotiations, and draw processing.
• Strong knowledge of ISP98 and/or UCP 600 is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draft, structure, and negotiate standby LC language aligned with bank standards and client requirements.
• Manage the full LC lifecycle: issuance, amendments, renewals, advising, confirmations, draws, releases.
• Review draw presentations for compliance with LC terms and coordinate resolutions with stakeholders.
• Serve as a trusted point of contact for clients, Relationship Managers, Legal, Compliance, and other partners.
• Monitor high-volume portfolio with accuracy and sound risk controls.
