Job summary

Siemens in Denver seeks a Standards and Codes Expert to lead monitoring and gap analysis across NFPA, NEC, IEEE, UL, and related standards for electrification and automation projects.

You will translate evolutions into actionable engineering requirements, guide cross-functional teams, and ensure compliance throughout the product lifecycle. You’ll participate in industry bodies, contribute to thought leadership, and deliver internal training on critical standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related) with 5-10 years’ experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, UL standards and codes, especially for electrification and automation/controls systems.
  • Familiarity with direct current power distribution systems.
  • Experience in technical committees/working groups (IEEE, NFPA, UL) is desirable.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical documents, regulations, and legal texts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Strong team player with cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to evolving standards and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Standards monitoring and gap analysis across NFPA, NEC, IEEE, UL, ASHRAE, and others relevant to the industry.
  • Translate standards evolutions into clear engineering requirements for BUs or cross-BU teams.
  • Provide expert guidance on applying standards throughout the product lifecycle from design to deployment.
  • Conduct design/product/process reviews to ensure compliance with applicable standards and codes.
  • Represent Siemens in key working groups and committees (IEEE, NFPA, UL, OCP, NERC, EMerge Alliance).
  • Contribute to thought leadership through articles, white papers, and presentations.
  • Develop and deliver training to internal teams on critical standards and compliance practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve compliance-related issues.
