Job summary

Charles Schwab is seeking a Reliability Engineering Lead to drive the reliability, scalability, security, and performance of mission-critical applications and platforms. This Lead IC role requires deep technical expertise, hands-on execution, and cross-team influence across engineering and business stakeholders.

You will mentor engineers, champion modern SRE practices, and lead critical incident responses while advancing automation and AI-driven DevOps across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years administering and supporting enterprise technology environments.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale Java and/or .NET production apps in cloud environments.
• 8+ years troubleshooting .NET/.NET Core applications.
• 5+ years configuring or migrating cloud-based apps.
• Strong GCP expertise, observability, incident management, and platform reliability.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and message-based integration.
• Experience leveraging AI-driven DevOps for automation and reliability.
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead reliability, availability, and performance initiatives for enterprise platforms.
• Drive incident and problem management, RCA, and operational excellence.
• Establish observability standards and monitoring strategies.
• Modernize applications and accelerate cloud adoption with teams.

• Influence architecture decisions across multiple teams.
• Mentor engineers as a Lead IC with no direct reports.
• Support mission-critical systems with resilient production environments.
