Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide advanced assessment and treatment for individuals with speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive-communication needs at the Mexia State Supported Living Center. The role requires leadership, collaboration with IDTs, and supervision of staff in habilitation services.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with major coursework in speech language therapy or speech language pathology.
• Current Licensure in Speech Language Pathology is required.
• CCC-SLP certification is preferred.
• Experience with dysphagia, AAC, and multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and cognitive-communication assessments.
• Develop and implement individualized therapeutic plans and treatment protocols.
• Collaborate with IDTs and supervise staff and interns.
• Document patient progress in the EMR and ensure quality of care.
