Job summary

DESERTWILLOW in is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to evaluate and treat residents, coordinate with families and health team, and maintain detailed documentation. The role involves creating and updating treatment plans to improve communication and swallowing safety, and providing staff trainings as needed.

The SLP will supervise CFY students, communicate regularly with physicians and nursing staff, and participate in care conferences to support resident outcomes and discharge

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology; Masters/Doctorate preferred.
• Proficient in computer systems for documentation (e.g., Net Health, Point ClickCare).
• Licensed as a Speech Therapist in the state; maintain license in good standing; CPR certification if required by licensure.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents to determine speech therapy needs and rehabilitation potential.
• Develop and update individualized treatment plans to improve communication and swallowing functions.
• Supervise CFY Speech-Language Pathology Fellows and students where applicable.
• Communicate progress and discharge planning with physicians, nursing staff, residents, and families.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Masters or Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology (preferred)
