Job summary

Tufts V.E.T.S. in Walpole, MA is seeking a Specialty Technician Supervisor to oversee cardiology, dermatology, internal medicine, oncology, ophthalmology, pharmacy, and radiology services.

The role requires strong leadership, CVT/LVT/RVT credentials, and 5+ years in veterinary tech settings. The supervisor will model best practices on the floor, coach staff, manage workflows, and ensure exceptional patient care while fostering a positive hospital culture.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Degree in Veterinary Technology and/or Animal Science; CVT/LVT/RVT certification; VTS desirable.
• Leadership experience managing veterinary teams in an emergency or specialty setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to coach and motivate staff.
• Comfort with high-stress environments and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of cardiology, dermatology, internal medicine, oncology, ophthalmology, pharmacy, and radiology services.
• Lead, coach, and develop the specialty services team.
• Ensure optimal patient care by providing clear direction and expectations.
• Coordinate daily schedules, staffing, and on-call coverage.
• Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and training of new hires.
• Manage payroll, time records, and department-related approvals.
• Promote inter-departmental collaboration and hospital culture.
