Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Space Vehicle Verification and Validation Lead to define and manage mission-specific verification plans for the Blue Ring spacecraft. You will work with a diverse team of engineers to ensure system verification from spacecraft bus to payloads, ground systems, and launch vehicle, delivering a fully qualified system for launch.

Qualifications

• B.S in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical or Software engineering or equivalent
• Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama
• 8+ years of space system development or test engineering experience
• 2+ years of spacecraft verification experience
• Experience performing requirements definition, traceability, interface definition, design documentation, integration, verification, and validation
• Ability to create requirement verification reports and roll-up verification to system level sell-off
• Understanding of the Systems Engineering lifecycle and the V model
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• US citizenship or eligible for U.S. government clearances

Responsibilities

• Lead System Verification for specific Blue Ring missions, including requirement decomposition and allocation
• Collaborate with Mission Lead Systems Engineers, Spacecraft Systems Engineering, Flight Software, Payload & Mission Integration, and Ground Systems Engineering to define verification plans
• Engage with government agencies and contractors to analyze unique customer and mission requirements and verification needs
• Develop and manage requirements and verification modules with traceability
• Define relationships between requirements, design parameters, technical budgets, ICDs, and performance measures
• Establish verification plans for system requirements and plan I&T activities
• Coordinate cross-organizational efforts to collect verification data for compliance
• Create verification reports to support launch readiness
• Ensure payload interfaces are met and spacecraft is ready for countdown
• Verify end-to-end functionality including ground system compatibility
