Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer for Space Vehicle Integration to own the manufacturing strategy across vehicle lines. You will guide design for manufacturability, develop tooling plans, and ensure readiness artifacts align with PDR/CDR milestones.

The role requires hands‑on experience in high‑reliability assembly, weight and balance, cleanroom practices, and active U.S. security clearance. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in aerospace/defense or high‑reliability industries, including 4+ years on final assembly and integration of vehicles or spacecraft.
• Owned the build flow for at least one vehicle‑level or major assembly, with defined sequence, stations, work instructions and travelers.
• Hands‑on depth in mechanical integration: precision fastening, torque control, bonded/shimmed joints, harness routing, alignment to datums.
• Experience with weight and balance or mass properties verification and final close‑out operations on flight or high‑consequence hardware.
• Cleanroom manufacturing experience with ISO 7+ contamination control and FOD prevention.
• Proven improvements in cycle‑time, yield or throughput on an assembly or integration line.
• Fluency with MES and PLM systems (Teamcenter, Foundry, SAP, Windchill, etc.).
• Currently holds an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Own the vehicle‑level build flow for production lines, including sequencing, stations, takt time and travelers.
• Own post‑environmental close‑out stations (weight and balance, final mechanical close‑out, ship prep) to maximize throughput.
• Develop and qualify vehicle integration processes (fastening, joints, harness installation, datum alignment).
• Drive Design for Manufacturability and Assembly for vehicle‑level designs before CDR, collaborating with design engineers.
• Lead the Manufacturing Development Process (MDP) across the program and champion its use in design forums.
• Mature producibility and tooling plans aligned with PDR/CDR milestones; produce readiness evidence.
• Adopt and master Foundry and Teamcenter as the system of record for builds and data.
• Specify and deploy ground support equipment and tooling; partner with Supply Chain and Quality on vendors.
• Hire, mentor, and lead integration engineers and technicians across vehicle lines.
