Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle is seeking a Box Responsible Engineer to own solid-state power amplifier assemblies for lunar communication systems. You will lead RF, power, and control card teams, drive design maturity, and ensure integration readiness across disciplines.

You will guide system-level requirements, perform trade studies, and coordinate with RF, digital, and software engineers to deliver a robust, flight-qualified SSPA product.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years of RF/microwave hardware development experience.
• Experience as box-level Responsible Engineer or technical lead on multi-card assemblies.
• Space-grade or high-rel RF hardware experience including radiation-tolerant components.
• Hands-on RF/electrical test equipment and box-level test automation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Box Responsible Engineer for solid-state power amplifier assemblies, owning box-level architecture, requirements decomposition, interfaces, budgets, and verification.
• Provide technical leadership to card-level REs spanning RF/power amplifier cards, power conditioning cards, and control/digital cards, including embedded software teams.
• Lead box-level design reviews, trade studies, and risk management; defend architecture decisions balancing RF performance, thermal, mass, and cost.
• Own SSPA integration and test campaign: develop test plans, lead bench bring-up and debugging, and direct environmental/qualification testing.
• Define and execute box-level validation and verification including RF performance, power supply behavior, grounding, and EMI/EMC testing.
