Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Lead Solutions Design Engineer to grow our Supply Chain Solutions and Dedicated Transportation offerings. You will design and win new business, shape pursuit plans, and deliver sustainable designs aligned with customer needs.

Key activities include expert data analysis, multi-disciplinary design work, and mentoring a small team of SD Engineers while coordinating with pricing, IT, and operations to ensure successful startup and handover.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering.
Six years or more experience in Transportation and Warehousing industries.
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; strong data analytics skills.
Experience with visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI) and data modeling.
Knowledge of logistics network design and optimization.

Responsibilities

Review RFPs, clarify gaps, and develop hypotheses for specific solutions.
Validate data, cleanse datasets, and define scenarios to model.
Develop labor, equipment, and facility cost estimates; coordinate pricing models.
Create optimization scenarios aligned with customer objectives.
Meet with customers and bid teams; present technical reviews and design validation.
Oversee implementation and adjust deployed processes to match plan.
Develop and improve engineering tools and methodologies; lead projects.
