Job summary

Our World Energy seeks a Roof Lead to assemble, install, and maintain solar PV systems on residential roofs, following site plans and schematics. You will join a crew responsible for rooftop installations, measuring, cutting, and bolting framing and PV modules.

You will read blueprints, install racking, run wiring, and ensure weather sealing while upholding safety standards and documenting work. Prior solar installation experience and a valid license are valued.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of residential solar experience.
• OSHA preferred.
• Ability to safely handle power tools and materials like ladders, inverters, solar panels, etc.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform all installation duties of the Installer and Lead Installer.
• Electrical/PV installation knowledge and NEC codes interpretation.
• Knowledge of PV systems operation and interconnection activities.
• Safety: follow safety policies and enforce safety practices.
• Must pass pre-employment screening and have a valid Driver’s License and clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Install racking system and solar panels on residential roofs with a team.
• Drive a truck and trailer safely.
• Mount racking and electrical equipment and seal penetrations.
• Maintain PV systems: modules, batteries, inverters, safety systems.
• Complete job documentation after installation.
• Interact with customers and answer questions.
• Read blueprints and plan documents.
• Run conduit and wiring on roofs for PV systems.
• Seal roof penetrations with weather seal and flashings.
• Configure electrical wiring of the PV system (AC/DC).
• Test operation of completed work and ensure functionality.
• Enforce OSHA safety standards on site.
