Job summary

Calqulate is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead large-scale commercial and municipal solar projects in Connecticut. The role will oversee schedule, budget, procurement, utility coordination, inspections, and client communication across multiple sites.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in solar or electrical construction, strong budgeting skills, and the ability to coordinate with utilities, municipalities, engineers, and subcontractors in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management in commercial construction or utility-scale solar.
• Strong budgeting and scheduling skills with CPM/critical path.
• Ability to read drawings and coordinate with utilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee large-scale commercial and municipal solar projects across CT.
• Lead project kickoff meetings and establish clear execution plans.
• Develop and maintain project schedules (critical path, long lead items, utility timelines).
• Manage procurement of major equipment (modules, inverters, switchgear, transformers, balance of system components).
• Coordinate with utilities for interconnection, witness testing and approvals.
• Track project budgets and monitor costs to maintain margins.
• Review and manage subcontracts and vendor agreements.
• Submit and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering and field teams to ensure design intent is executed.
• Oversee permitting and inspection processes.
• Manage project billing milestones and support O&M transition.
• Maintain organized project documentation and reporting.
• Identify and mitigate risks early in the project lifecycle.
