Northern Trust seeks a Principal, Software Quality Engineering to lead quality across Capital Markets securities finance platforms. You will own end-to-end test strategy, automation, data/API validation, performance testing and quality governance across global teams.

Partnering with Product Owners, Architects and Developers, you will design testable solutions, drive reusable automation, and integrate quality checks into CI/CD pipelines to enable early feedback and reliable releases.

Qualifications

• Securities Finance domain knowledge and lifecycle events.
• Experience designing and governing end-to-end test strategies for large financial systems.
• Proven test automation for integrated platforms.
• Ability to implement BDD/TDD approaches and automation tools.
• Experience integrating automated checks with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong SQL skills and data validation across data stores.
• Experience testing APIs, microservices and data flows.
• Experience with performance, scalability and resiliency testing.
• Analytical leadership to diagnose defects and improve quality.
• Strong communication of risks, decisions and status to stakeholders.
• Significant financial services quality engineering delivery experience.

Responsabilités

• Define and drive the Securities Finance quality engineering strategy across functional, integration, regression, data, API and non-functional testing.
• Advance product quality through testing innovation and continuous process improvement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to design testable solutions and quality requirements early in SDLC.
• Develop roadmaps and plans for program-level test strategies and automation.
• Lead end-to-end test cycles across interconnected applications and global teams, including defect triage and release-readiness reporting.
• Design and manage proofs-of-concept for new quality capabilities.
• Identify risks early and drive root-cause analysis with mitigation.
• Maintain and expand automation frameworks and regression suites.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD for early feedback and continuous delivery.
• Lead data validation across databases, ETL/ELT pipelines and reporting flows.
• Design and execute API and microservices testing at program level.
• Define quality metrics and provide reporting to technical and business stakeholders.
• Provide mentorship and leadership across distributed teams.
