Job summary

Fidelity Investments Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Quality Engineer to lead quality engineering for a multi-year modernization initiative within Stock Plan Services.

You will define standards, establish frameworks, and guide practices across teams, shaping the technology vision and ensuring scalable, reliable software deliverables. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive adoption of modern testing tools and methodologies to support Fidelity's growth and ongoing

Qualifications

• 12-15 years of experience in software test/Quality Engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in technology (CS, engineering, etc.).
• Experience with Agile and Jira.
• Strong expertise in functional, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience testing distributed applications across multiple stack layers.
• Hands-on experience with Test Management lifecycle.
• Strong SQL skills; PL/SQL and complex queries.
• Proficiency in test automation using RestAssured, Playwright, Karate, Cucumber, TestNG.
• Experience with Java/Spring Boot; knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript is a plus.
• CI/CD and cloud experience (GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Docker, SonarQube; Azure/AWS).

Responsibilities

• Lead QE strategy with enterprise-wide test automation frameworks.
• Design and implement automated testing solutions to improve quality and scalability.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship on QE practices.
• Drive quality across modernization initiatives ensuring reliability.
• Translate requirements into test strategies, stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Establish and track quality metrics to inform decisions.
• Identify risks and develop contingency plans for quality and automation.
• Evaluate and adopt modern testing tools and practices.
