Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth, Texas, seeks a Software Engineering Manager to lead the F-35 Pilot Systems Software Team within the PSSW group. Responsibilities include software development for MFD and HMD, transitioning software to new architecture, and coordinating with other F-35 teams for integration and flight tests.

You will mentor staff and drive performance management. The role requires hands-on leadership, experience with real-time embedded systems, and a track record in Agile

Qualifications

• Experience with real-time, embedded software development including requirements analysis, software design, coding, unit-testing, and CSCI integration testing.
• Experience managing complex technical systems/programs.
• Experience leading Agile development.
• Master’s degree in Software Engineering.
• Experience in C++, OOA/OOD, Eclipse IDE, and Atlassian tool suite.
• Experience preparing and delivering briefings to leadership.
• Experience as a CAM and related CAM tools.
• Experience with Jira.
• Familiarity with F35 Architecture.
• Experience in Display Development.
• Experience as a software technical lead where schedules were created and managed, team members were tasked, and commitments/deadlines were met.
• Experience in flight software qualification testing and security/safety certification efforts.

Responsibilities

• Manage software development activities.
• Coordinate subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
• Oversee the design, development, documentation, and testing of software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment.
• Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
• Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.
• Ensure software standards are met.
• Develop software for the Multi-function Display (MFD) and Helmet Mounted Display (HMD).
• Transition existing MFD software to new architecture.
• Interact with other F-35 teams to support software integration and flight test.
• Manage and status mature technical staff.
• Mentor and train engineers with lesser experience.
• Provide the necessary direction and instruction associated with responsibilities.
• Responsible for performance management and talent acquisition for growth and sustainment of the team.
