Job summary

Epsilon is seeking a Lead, Software Engineer to design and build scalable cloud-based software and data solutions. You will work with Java, Micronaut, Angular, Node.js, and AWS to deliver robust backend APIs and real-time UI features.

You will collaborate with product owners to define requirements, implement CI/CD pipelines with GoCD, and ensure secure, compliant workloads across multi-tenant environments. Remote work is possible within the US.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or related field with 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Design and develop backend APIs using Java for WebSocket/RESTful communication.
• Develop microservices with Micronaut for serverless environments.
• Create Databricks batch jobs using Apache Spark for large-scale data.
• Develop Angular UI components connected to a Node.js backend for real-time notifications.
• Use GoCD to implement CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments.
• Leverage AWS services (S3, Lambda, API Gateway, SSM) for scalable cloud apps.
• Use Terraform for IaC and automated deployments.
• Develop Python and Shell scripts to automate pipelines.
• Utilize Kafka for event-driven microservices and ELK for logging.
• Implement integration tests with Gauge and perform performance tests with K6.
• Manage PostgreSQL databases with Liquibase for schema version control.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and develop software and cloud solutions aligned with business goals.
• Collaborate with product owner and tech manager to refine user stories and requirements.
• Deliver features within sprint cycles while following coding standards.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues and security vulnerabilities.
• Support hotfixes with cross-functional teams and ensure test coverage.
• Evaluate performance, scalability, and reliability of applications and drive improvements.
• Provide feedback on availability, performance, and integration across systems.
• Mentor team members on coding best practices and testing strategies.
• Contribute to benchmark, load, and stress testing and analyze results.
