Job summary

JPMorganChase seeks a Lead Software Engineer to join the Commercial & Investment Bank payments technology team in Jersey City. You will lead testing efforts, drive end-to-end test strategies, and work with Operations, Product and Technology to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

Strong experience in Cucumber/Gherkin, Java, Selenium and test automation is required. You will guide junior testers, own test plans, and ensure high-quality releases in a fast-paced financial environment.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Experience troubleshooting, resolving, and maintaining Cucumber / Gherkin, Java, Selenium.
• Knowledge of Payments domain and testing processes to define requirements and test scripts.

Responsibilities

• Lead a test team with daily supervision, duty allocation, and issue resolution in sprints.
• Plan requirements against End-to-End test strategy, including data, environments and automation.
• Lead Daily Scrum calls, deputize for Program Test Manager in fortnightly meetings.
• Identify testing automation opportunities and test synergies across projects.
• Document and execute test scenarios using Business Driven Development or Gherkin.
• Monitor defects, report testing results, and ensure timely re-testing for sign-off.
• Collaborate with Operations, Product and Technology groups to report progress.
• Maintain strong organization to manage critical testing tasks under tight deadlines.
• Utilize AI coding assist tools to improve code quality and delivery speed, with peer review.
