Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to deliver high‑quality, scalable software and provide technical leadership within the team. You will design and implement major features across LIMS platforms and collaborate with lab ops, automation engineers, and stakeholders to meet complex workflow needs.

You will mentor peers, drive architectural improvements, and contribute to roadmaps while working in an agile environment. This role emphasizes on‑site collaboration and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• 4 or more years of software engineering experience.
• Deep understanding of system architecture and scalable design.
• Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong full‑stack development across applications and infrastructure.
• Experience in Agile development environments.
• Ability to translate business goals into scalable engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality, stable software solutions that meet platform standards.
• Lead complex technical projects with timely delivery and cross‑team collaboration.
• Provide feedback during code reviews and maintain system architecture knowledge.
• Advocate for engineering best practices while balancing pragmatism and business needs.
• Identify and champion foundational improvements and new technologies.
• Contribute to product and technical roadmaps, team workflows, and planning.
• Design, implement, and evolve major features in the LIMS ecosystem.
• Collaborate with lab operations and scientific stakeholders to address lab workflow needs.
• Develop full‑stack applications and APIs supporting specimen tracking, assay execution, batch management, and robotic integration.
