Job summary

CareDx, Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer with deep LIMS expertise to design, configure, and scale software for complex laboratory workflows in Brisbane, CA. This role focuses on hands-on development and system integration within clinical environments.

You will partner with lab stakeholders, product managers, and cross-functional teams to translate real-world lab processes into reliable, compliant software, including integrations with instruments, ELNs, EMRs/EHRs, and data warehouses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent).
• 8–10+ years of professional software engineering experience with substantial LIMS work.
• Hands-on experience configuring LIMS platforms such as Labbit or LabAdvantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, configuration, and customization of LIMS to support end-to-end lab workflows.
• Serve as technical SME for LIMS workflows, lab operations, and healthcare terminology.
• Collaborate with lab users to gather requirements and map workflows for system configurations.
• Develop extensions, integrations, and automation around LIMS platforms.
• Integrate LIMS with instruments, ELNs, EMRs/EHRs, data warehouses, and APIs.
• Ensure regulatory/compliance requirements (CLIA, CAP, HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11).
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across LIMS initiatives.
• Coordinate with QA, DevOps, and product teams for testing, validation, deployment.
