Job summary

Personalis, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain our Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).

You will own features for existing systems and new cloud platforms, collaborating with senior engineers to deliver scalable solutions powering regulated laboratory operations. This role is onsite on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, with a strong emphasis on code quality, reviews, and documentation in a GxP-aligned environment.

Qualifications

B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
5 years of professional software development experience.
Strong proficiency in Python or Java and building REST APIs.
Proven experience deploying applications on AWS.
Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and CI/CD concepts.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain software systems and features supporting laboratory operations.
Develop and optimize backend services and APIs using Python and/or Java.
Take ownership of deploying and maintaining services in our AWS cloud environment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
