Job summary

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems in Orlando is seeking a Lead Software Engineer (LSWE) to join the Weapon Integration Team for the F-35 Pilot Training Device. You will oversee software design, TPM tracking, and IPT-level software architecture to support mission rehearsal training.

Ideal candidates bring 7+ years in C++ software engineering, Agile experience, and strong hands-on testing and code-review skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in full life cycle of software-centric systems or software engineering projects.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies.
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering with C++.
• Familiarity with Git version-control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
• Strong background in software development lifecycle (SDLC), change control, and configuration management.
• Hands-on experience with code reviews, static analysis, and unit testing frameworks (GoogleTest, CMock).
• Collaborative mindset and a commitment to continuous learning; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure software designs align to requirements and performance baselines.
• Oversee closure of Software Pre-Release Bugs (PRBs).
• Act as the single POC/Lead for the Software Engineering activities on the IPT.
• Ensure that the program's Software Engineering processes/procedures and other required process assets are defined and followed.
• Contribute to the Development and Maintenance of the Software Development Plan (SDP), and ensure implementation at the IPT level.
• Establish and track Software Engineering Technical Performance Measures (TPMs) at the IPT level.
• Ensure the flow-down of Software Engineering requirements to subcontractors.
• Guide program development of the Software Engineering portion of program's multi-functional resource/schedule estimates at the IPT level.
• Ensure adequate trades, simulations, and analyses are performed at the IPT level.
• Be responsible for the development of Software Architecture at the IPT level.
• Support the Software Architect in ensuring that common solutions are implemented to common software problems across IPTs.
• Ensure the quality of software engineering work products at the IPT level.
• Ensure implementation of peer reviews required for each work product in the Software Development Plan at the IPT level.
• Champion continuous improvement activities for the SW Engineering discipline and adopt 1LMX techniques and approaches at the IPT level.
