Job summary

First Citizens is seeking a hands-on Lead Software Engineer to guide design, development, and production support of secure, scalable cloud-native solutions across Payments, Money Movement, and Reporting platforms.

The ideal candidate will bring deep AWS expertise, serverless and containerized architectures, and a track record of leading distributed teams to deliver reliable, high‑performance systems in a fast-paced financial services environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field with 8+ years in software engineering.
• 5+ years hands-on AWS cloud engineering and architecture experience.
• Strong design, development and leadership across cloud-native, serverless, and microservices.
• Proficient in Java/Spring Boot and/or Node.js with containerization (Docker/OpenShift).

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design across Payments, Money Movement, and reporting platforms.
• Drive CI/CD, testing, deployment and production support for cloud-native solutions.
