Job summary

CoStar Group in Richmond, VA is seeking a Manager, Software Engineering to lead cross-functional teams in delivering scalable software products using TypeScript, React, .NET, and AWS.

You will mentor engineers, shape architectural direction, and drive AI-powered initiatives while aligning with product leaders. This hybrid role offers in-office Monday-Thursday and optional remote on Friday. Base compensation ranges from $182,000 to $235,000 annually.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field from an accredited university.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including full-stack development.
• 2+ years of engineering leadership experience managing software development teams.
• Hands-on experience with TypeScript, C#, .NET, React, SQL Server, Elasticsearch, AWS.
• Experience evaluating or developing AI-powered solutions and familiarity with LLMs and AI tooling.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership, architectural direction, and delivery ownership for a portfolio of software products and platforms.
• Lead and mentor teams building scalable applications using TypeScript, React, Node.js, .NET, SQL Server, AWS, and AI technologies.
• Guide design reviews, remove delivery obstacles, and contribute to key engineering initiatives.
• Drive multi-project execution, coordinating priorities and resources across engineering and business functions.
• Champion AI-assisted development practices to improve productivity, code quality, and reliability.
• Utilize AI-powered observability and automation to enhance system resiliency and customer experience.
• Partner with stakeholders to implement intelligent solutions that streamline workflows and accelerate outcomes.
• Lead design and governance of AI-powered solutions, including agents, tools, skills, copilots, and workflows.
• Enforce engineering best practices for quality, security, scalability, and operational excellence.
• Promote responsible AI adoption with security, privacy, compliance, and governance alignment.
• Represent customer needs during planning, design reviews, and release readiness.
