Job summary

Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions seeks a Lead Software Engineer to drive end-to-end delivery for major retail platforms. You will code daily, mentor teams, and own technical trade-offs across Discovery and Delivery Tracks, with strong emphasis on AI-assisted development, cloud-native design, and scalable architectures.

Responsibilities include prototyping, architectural governance, and hands-on delivery sign-off while collaborating with clients and teams to ensure quality and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/engineering.
• Experience using AI-assisted tools (Copilot, Claude Code) for design, coding, and docs.
• 8+ years of professional software development with hands-on coding.
• 5+ years building cloud-native, microservices, or event-driven systems on Azure.
• Strong Java/Spring Boot, TypeScript, and React/Vue proficiency.
• End-to-end delivery ownership for medium-to-large projects.
• Experience with REST/OpenAPI, databases (SQL/NoSQL), CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end solution delivery across Discovery and Delivery Tracks.
• Lead hands-on implementation, design, code reviews, and mentorship.
• Drive Dual-Track Agile practices, rapid prototyping, and feasibility validation.
• Engage with clients as technical lead, presenting solutions and trade-offs.
• Ensure design intent, code quality, and non-functional requirements.
• Develop ADRs, interface contracts, data models, and migration plans.
• Uphold security, observability, and operational reliability standards.
