Job summary

CoStar Group is seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer in San Diego to own the full software lifecycle for our analytics platform. You will design, build, test, deploy, and operate data-intensive applications while guiding a team of engineers and collaborating with product and design leaders.

You will apply OO design, modern server-side and frontend technologies (C#, .NET, Web API, Node, React) and cloud patterns to deliver scalable analytics products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from accredited institution.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with AI-assisted development workflows (GitHub Copilot / Claude Code).
• Solid understanding of Object Oriented Programming.
• Proficiency with C#, .NET Framework, Web API, Node.
• Knowledge of front-end languages and frameworks (JavaScript, React).
• Expertise with SQL Server databases.
• Experience with source control and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test and deploy scalable data-intensive applications.
• Own your work from development to production support.
• Collaborate with engineers, product owners, designers, and leadership on architectures.
• Be a trusted team member for technical design and code quality.
• Advocate for evolution and improvement, including AI-assisted workflows.
• Develop deep understanding of the CoStar business and analytics products.
