Job summary

CoStar Group is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for its Analytics team in San Diego, with a hybrid schedule (in-office Mon-Thu, work from home on Friday). You will lead end-to-end development of data-intensive Real Estate Analytics products, drive technical design, and mentor engineers while advancing AI-assisted workflows.

The role demands 10+ years of software development, strong OO, and expertise in C#, .NET, Web API, Node, JavaScript, React, and SQL Server.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience using AI-assisted development workflows (e.g., GitHub Copilot or Claude Code) to generate and improve code.
• Strong object-oriented programming skills and modern server-side frameworks.
• Proficiency with C#, .NET Framework, Web API, and Node.js.
• Proficiency with front-end JavaScript and React.
• Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server.
• Familiarity with source control practices (Git or TFS).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and deploy scalable data-rich applications.
• Own work from development to production, ensuring reliability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with engineers, product owners, designers, and leadership on technical designs.
• Contribute to architecture and code quality, and promote improvements including AI-assisted workflows.
• Develop understanding of the CoStar business and analytic products.
