Job summary

Wizards of the Coast is seeking a Lead Engineer for our Business Systems Engineering group to shape the platform that powers Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, and related experiences. You will own technical direction, drive AI-assisted development tooling, and ensure reliable, scalable delivery across services on AWS.

You will mentor engineers, champion engineering standards, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to translate business challenges into robust software solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years in a lead/senior capacity.
• Proven track record building and operating production-grade enterprise software.
• Hands-on with AI-assisted development workflows and evaluating AI-generated code.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop platform services on AWS for the product creation pipeline.
• Lead engineering standards and drive high-quality system design across teams.
• Mentor teammates through direction and code/design reviews.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and building a high-performing team culture.
