Job summary

Wizards of the Coast in the United States is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Business Systems Engineering team. You will design and develop core services on AWS and help shape AI‑driven development tooling that supports Magic: The Gathering, D&D, and related franchises.

This role blends hands‑on coding with technical leadership, setting engineering standards and guiding growth while delivering reliable, scalable software across distributed systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ in senior‑level roles.
• Strong experience building and operating production‑grade enterprise software.
• Proficiency with AI‑assisted development workflows and evaluating AI‑generated code.
• Proficient in C#/.NET, Java, Go, AWS, Docker/ECS/EKS, CI/CD, REST APIs, and relational DB design.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop AWS‑based services for core product creation platforms.
• Influence engineering standards and drive end‑to‑end technical decisions.
• Improve AI‑assisted development tooling and quality gates.
• Mentor teammates through reviews and technical direction.
• Collaborate with product owners and cross‑functional partners.
