Archer is partnering with JPMorganChase to recruit a Lead Software Engineer for the Commercial & Investment Banking - Payments team. The role blends hands-on coding with architecture reviews, security-focused API development, and AI-assisted engineering practices across distributed systems.

You will drive the design of an AI-first developer portal, secure external integrations, and robust production standards while mentoring engineers and ensuring delivery excellence within an agile environment.

Formación

• 8+ years applied software engineering experience with coaching/mentoring demonstrable.
• Hands-on software engineering experience building and operating distributed systems at scale.
• Experience leading software teams delivering complex platforms/products with measurable outcomes.
• Experience leading use of AI-assisted development tools with governance for correctness, performance and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI in engineering workflows including data sensitivity and secure handling.
• Strong backend development experience with Java and modern stacks.
• Proven API design and external-facing integrations experience (contract-first, lifecycle, security).
• Security fundamentals for external integrations: OAuth2/OIDC, mTLS, PKI/certificates, secrets management.
• Experience building AI-enabled product capabilities in production with governance, monitoring and auditability.
• Proficient in automation, CD, Agile and SDLC practices.
• Strong observability, performance engineering, incident management.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the creation of an AI-first Developer Portal experience with architecture patterns for agent-ready workflows.
• Build and operate AI-enabled support experiences with contextual understanding of workspace state and troubleshooting signals.
• Design secure external API platform capabilities: OpenAPI, versioning, backward compatibility, pagination, error models.
• Drive enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices and code quality improvements with reusable patterns.
• Apply knowledge of SDLC tooling to improve automation and value realization.
• Own authentication and credential workflows for external integrations.
• Establish engineering standards for AI + automation in production: test strategy, telemetry, incident response.
• Remain hands-on ~50% through critical-path coding, reviews, debugging, performance work.
• Collaborate with API owners, security, and shared services to deliver unified client experience.
• Coach engineers to raise quality, delivery discipline, design rigor, and leadership capability.
