Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Texas is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Consumer and Community Banking agile team.

You will help enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, scalable way, serving as a core technical contributor across multiple business functions. You will develop secure production code in Java with Spring Boot, design RESTful services, and drive AI-assisted engineering practices to improve quality, speed, and reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency developing backend services in Java with Spring Boot within microservices.
• Ability to design and implement RESTful web services and APIs.
• Hands-on experience defining cloud infrastructure as code with Terraform and operating services on AWS.
• Experience containerizing and orchestrating applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Practical experience with relational and NoSQL databases (Postgres, Cassandra, MongoDB, Redis).
• Experience building and maintaining event streaming solutions using Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• DevOps / SRE practices, including CI/CD with Jenkins and observability with Splunk and Grafana.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authored AI-assisted software development tools and ability to evaluate AI outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including security and resiliency considerations.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting across complex problems.
• Develops secure production code and reviews code written by others.
• Drives AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operations.
• Applies SDLC tooling knowledge to improve automation and value realization.
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation to improve stability of applications.
• Leads evaluation sessions with vendors and teams to assess architectures and technical credentials.
