Job summary

Nationwide Property & Appraisal Services, LLC is seeking a lead engineer to work with the founding engineer from a recent acquisition. The role combines hands-on Django development with technical oversight of other engineers, including contractors and AI-assisted work.

You will own features end-to-end, review architecture, and ensure compliance in a regulated domain. The position is remote in the United States, with a deliberate pace focused on quality, documentation, and robust software

Qualifications

• Solid Django and Django REST Framework experience.
• Full-stack capability: JavaScript, HTMX, and Django templates with HTMX attributes.
• Experience with Celery, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Docker Compose for local development.
• Familiarity with regression/statistical libraries (pandas, numpy, statsmodels, scikit-learn) is a plus.
• Experience reviewing other engineers’ work and mentoring on AI-assisted development.

Responsibilities

• Implement features in Django and DRF against written task briefs.
• Develop both backend and HTMX frontend when required; ensure API parity between REST and HTMX screens.
• Review PRs, mentor junior engineers, and enforce decoupling and compliance mandates.
