Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to help advance the engineering-intelligence platform. You will lead critical technology solutions across multiple areas, focusing on secure, scalable production code and AI-assisted tooling in a distributed cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering and 5+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Strong knowledge of Java, Python, and JavaScript/TypeScript with a backend in Django + FastAPI and a React frontend.
• Experience leading AI-assisted software development tools and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and secure handling of data.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and debugging of complex problems.
• Develops secure, high-quality production code and reviews code written by others.
• Drives team adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices and establishes validation standards.
• Applies SDLC tools and automation to improve value of automation and efficiency.
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation and improve operational stability.
• Leads evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams on architecture and credentials.
• Leads communities of practice to promote new technologies.
• Designs and delivers services across a distributed, multi-tenant platform (backend APIs, data pipelines, dashboards) in cloud SaaS and isolated AWS environments.
• Champions security and privacy-by-design throughout the SDLC.
