Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join an agile team delivering secure, scalable financial technology platforms. You will drive code quality, design decisions, and AI/GenAI integration across equities broker-dealer and prime finance platforms, ensuring reliability and governance.

You will lead architectural discussions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into robust solutions, including AI-assisted development

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Advanced proficiency in Java, Spring Boot and REST APIs within microservices.
• Strong experience with Relational databases (Oracle/DB2) and NoSQL (MongoDB) and CI/CD, DevOps, automation.
• Proficient in SDLC and secure, governable AI integration.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical skills and stakeholder communication.
• Experience building high-volume, low-latency financial systems.
• Leading AI-assisted development tools usage and setting validation standards.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions and troubleshooting across distributed microservices.
• Develops secure, high-quality production code and reviews peers.
• Builds AI/ML and GenAI into production platforms with MLOps for lifecycle management.
• Automates remediation to improve stability, resiliency, and performance.
• Drives architecture decisions for scalability and platform evolution.
• Leads architecture reviews with internal teams to align with enterprise tech strategies.
• Modernizes platforms with cloud-native, event-driven, microservices patterns.
• Partners with business teams to translate requirements into scalable tech solutions.
• Ensures robust SDLC, testing (unit, SIT, UAT) and production stability.
