Job summary

Davenport Community School District is seeking a dedicated softball coach for West High School to teach fundamentals, develop a competitive program, and promote academic and athletic excellence.

The role requires strong communication with administration, staff, students, and booster clubs; supervision of practices and games; and collaboration with athletic boosters on concessions and camps.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Iowa Coaching Authorization or Iowa Teaching License with Coaching Endorsement.
• Experience with competition at state level is desired.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with culturally diverse students.

Responsibilities

• Teach and coach softball fundamentals and techniques.
• Develop and maintain a strong softball program.
• Motivate student-athletes to excel on the court and in the classroom.
• Communicate with administration, staff, students, and booster club.
• Provide supervision before, during, and after practices/matches.
• Assist the Athletic Boosters with concession stands and community events.
