Job summary

FMC Ice Sports in Massachusetts is seeking Lead Instructors for its learn to skate and learn to play programs. This part-time role involves working under the supervision of the program Supervisor, teaching groups of skaters, and delivering positive customer experiences in a busy arena.

Most programs run in the afternoons, evenings, and on weekends. The compensation includes a training rate of $20–$30 per hour, with base pay for instructor work of $22–$32 per hour, or $17–$18 per hour for

Qualifications

Previous experience assisting or teaching skating classes is preferred.
Applicants must be able to ice skate proficiently. Figure skaters should have achieved and passed ISI Freestyle 4 or USFS Freeskate 4 and up.
Hockey players should have participated in multiple years of formal league play.

Responsibilities

Effectively uses customer service skills to control customer interactions.
Educates the public to the habits and attitudes of safe ice activities.
Accurately evaluates placements of students for skating instructions.
Prepares/completes program documents like attendance, recommendations, etc.
Enforcement of all rules regarding rink policies and operating procedures.
Executes policies and procedures professionally and accurately.
Maintains a clean and safe environment for patrons and staff.
Responsible for completing all tasks assigned by the Program Supervisor on time.
Attends scheduled staff meetings.
Performs any other related or similar duty as assigned.
